Hope
Once i was walking with my spiritual mentor, on the roads of Pondicherry, when i told him, "You know something, this Ashram gave me hope", i said it, just because i felt like saying it, but then he was impressed, and when i say that word, i mean it, he was happy,A sadhak who has been a part of Sri Aurombindo mission from a long long time had seen something remarkable in my statement, and i gave a thought!
Maybe i should accept it, that hope changes you in and out, it alters your perception towards the world that you survive in, hope is not just a word or a feeling, but its rather a driving force that could make you live,i myself hate it, exaggerating a word and its meaning, and i know that i am doing just that,But deep in me lies a feeling, that these statements when written here, will change something in the world, and thats my hope!
Every sytems runs, and runs in itself, but the primary importance of all things that are connected with its efficient working is the hope that somewhere, its own dreams are coming true, look at a patriot, an army man, defending the borders of a country, sometimes he must be facing this dilemma in life,What if i am dead today?Who's going to look after my family? Is the effort worth it?Why do i not sit inside the comforts of society, rather than on a snowy peak, where life and death are equiprobable event?I am sure, one things that keep him there and gives him the courage to stand is the hope that somewhere he's making a change to his destiny and the destiny of the country that he's living in,His life would not be wasted on this border, it would be rather cherished and kept in memoriers for a long long time!
But what is this hope that can drive man forever? This hope forever changes, but then how could men stick to the same system for a life? Why does a doctor remain a doctor? An engineer, an engineer? What kind of occupations are those which could give and consolidate all your hopes in one and make you feel satisfied?
All systems have been working on the same thing,Take for instance, the 4 stages of life defined in Hinduism,They ask you to learn for the first 25 years, as a Man's hope maybe will be fulfilled by learning, he's new to this world, his senses must be looking for answers to his curiosity,Then they say is the time of Marriage, a wife, a companionship, a set of children, who could further fulfill the demands of the man,Then is the time of studying different vedas and alland last is about going to Jungle, being one with "Prakriti".it was potentially a more intellectually sound system, then off course the one we survive today!
So thats the parameter, to make a system working, all its components hopes must be fulfilled, maybe only then will a system be working and would remain working forever!
